Trapezius Muscle Trigger Points

Trapezius Muscle Trigger Points 🧍

The trapezius, a large, trapezium-shaped muscle in the upper back, neck, and shoulders, is integral for neck and shoulder movements. It collaborates with muscles such as the sternocleidomastoid and scalenus, impacting its functionality.

The upper trapezius controls head movements, the middle assists in retracting the shoulder blades, and the lower part aids in shoulder elevation. Trigger points in the trapezius can lead to tension headaches, characterized by sharp pains in the neck, temporal region, and down the back, and may cause balance issues and dizziness.
